1) It's not hard to figure out what the advantages of worldwide leader ship were. But I think what really inspired us was that we decided to do the mission statement at the same timee as we were going through a major change in how we did business.
3) We used the production 1l1achinc.ary over and over again. We passed it down from country to country. We were so proud of the fact that when we put a piece of machinery into Indonesia it was the fourth country it had been in. This is the way we ran the business for about 90 years.
4) But it became apparent we had we had to change. Communications was changing at a rapid rate. Everybody was seeing the same television programs.
